      Giggidy giggidy.

(I'll have a look later. Most UK sofas are made in Wales and I know some companies in Birmingham. I'll flick through the Interiors 2010 Furniture guide and send you some links to manufacturers in your area over the w/e)

We had one made in leather by a local shop. Lovely and comfy.

Actually, you can look companies up yourself.

interiors 2011 - The UK's largest trade interiors exhibition

This is the main furniture show for the UK. When you want to kit out the rest of your place go to this.

As Moscow Mule said, find a local shop that can make you something decent, you may pay more money but at least it will last.

So from this thread we can assume that:

                      a) Alexi has never actually bought a real sofa before, or it seems ordered Sky, welcome to the 1990's, things get loads better in 20 years time, i look forward to the "my phone is heavier than a block of bricks, I'm thinking of buying an Ericsson GS88" thread
                      b) SKA must be taking off for our resident commie brummie to feel the need to splash out cash on capitalistic ideas of actually decorating his bedsit
                      c) It seems "Russian style" means more than one thing
                      d) it also seems that squirrels are not the most important thing after work for AtW, his mind wanders towards the opposite sex and how to attract them to his birmingham bedsit

If it helps AtW, gf chef and I ordered our first sofa 9 months or so ago and it also took 8-10 weeks to be delivered, so the mainland isn't any better than the uk. Good luck with the bedsit re-design, it's a step in the right direction and in all fairness the style of the sofa is actually not that bad, Sky are f###ers, once SKA takes off big time maybe you could do something about it and buy them out and run the customer service side a bit better.
