Are you saying they'll come to install it, say there is no phone line and then I won't be even able to use TV until next month despite paying for install etc?Originally posted by SupremeSpod View PostYep.

Isn't there a condition on the sky contract that states you need to be connected to a BT line for 12 months.
We've been with sky for ages haven't got it connected to the phone line. However during reboots it does mention that its not
connected and I can get better features if connected to a phones line.
I'm seriously thinking of ditching sky thoughComment

I've had Sky installed from scratch, including a new BT phone line as part of the package.
First they put the dish up and wire it in, then they connect the Sky+ box to your TV. You don't need it to be connected to the phone line, which is good as it took about 2 months for BT to turn up and fit the phone line. *****.Comment

Just on the phone with them, first thing was - enter your phone number to locate your accountOriginally posted by SupremeSpod View PostHave a look at the Ts&Cs Have fun.
Anyway, the chap on the phone said the line is only needed for interactive services, so TV will be ok...Comment

problem is nmo matter which provider you are with all they do is act as a go between between you and BT.
So in essence you may as well go with BT as there is no middle man
standard times for BT line install are 15 working days for standard line and another 10 to add the adsl circuit.
except if you live in Hull where Kingston Comms do all the infrastructure and not BT - I have no idea why this is.Comment
