afternoon all,

we're putting .Net onto Suns, isn't that fun

anyone know how to do ping on Suns,

I think this M9000 is taking the p when I run ping....

appserver:SIDadm 6% /usr/sbin/ping centralinstance
centralinstance is alive

I was hoping to see the IP address

no wonder Sun has zero market share

Milan.

ok you bunch of mankeees,

here's the answer....

nslookup SERVER

as root

yes, oh how we laughed when we were told

but who cares eh, it pays the bills and the bean counters at the top think it will be cheaper

little do they know

christmas is coming :wink

I was expecting a fascinating post about Betelgeuse and Sirius and the fate of the Universe as we know it, or something.

But with Milan posting, I might have known it would be about .Net :eyes

ping -s will do what you are expecting.

You don't need to run nslookup as root, you just need to make sure it's in your path or use the full path (/usr/sbin/nslookup)
