Minnie Driver in The Deep, BBC One, review - Telegraph

Did anyone watch this?

I am tempted but "clichés and clunkiness" are exactly the sort of thing that really wind me up about British TV dramas

Watched it on iPlayer. As mindless entertainment goes it wasn't too bad.

As for Minnie Driver, Christ on a f**king bike she's ugly. You'd think she'd do something about her swede!

swede?

Anyway, I always thought Minnie Driver was attractive in a different way.
Not ugly though

Watched the first one and was disappointed.

Half watched last nights while I was doing something else.

Another Bone-whatever.

I saw a cute blonde driving a convertible mini this morning.

The story is quite plausible though, Russians secretly drilling for oil under the Arctic ice cap and sabotaging the rivals. Not sure about that big ray gun thing though.

You spoiler.

Have they stumbled across the previously undiscovered deep-sea civilisation yet?

Nah... I did think it was going along the lines of 'The Abyss' until last night.

Not yet and for the same reasons you mention above.

The Beeb have some good concepts with name actors for dramas but the hammy acting is really off putting.

A recent example being the Day of the Triffids remake - I didn't get past the first episode of that.

I'm worried Sherlock is like that which is why I haven't watched it yet but the reviews seem good so will go ahead and give it a look see this w/end.

Did anyone watch Luther recently? One show where, thankfully, they got it right.
(Great opening credits and music too).

Best drama on the beeb for a long time.
