I don't know why it doesn't show reputation on the profile page; it seems like a sensible place to show it, so I'll add it in.
Assuming the settings are at their defaults, all registered users start with ten points. Your "reputation-altering power" (i.e. the number of points your vote adds or subtracts) is increased by length of time as a registered user, post count, and your own reputation.
If your reputation drops below a certain level, your votes are ignored.Comment

So. It looks like that if you're own reputation goes negative then your reputation enhancing or negating ability is also negated!!!!
Received some reps from posters with high post counts but who have already been negged they're own reputation abilities seem to became worthless.
If you go too far down looks like you are out of the game and you would need to get boosted back up :eel
