It's coming. An unknown apple device (located in an Apple location, and 90% not an iPhone) has been detected by the folk that monitor these things.

Yep, that was the link I couldn't find. Interesting reading, clever they're able to do it. And noteworthy that it's virtually impossible for anyone to develop and test a new device without it being detectable.

Their analytics framework is used by a lot of iPhone developers. I suppose Apple could have restricted themselves to testing apps that don't use it, but then they wouldn't have been testing a representative sample.

It'll be interesting to see how many apps work correctly on the new beast. I've seen a lot of example code in blogs, tutorials, and even books that does things like hard-coding the window dimensions; instant fail I would imagine, when all they had to do was get the dimensions via the API provided

Do we really care though, as per most Apple products it will be all style and little substance all wrapped up by the usual hype (which they will get bollocked for as usual)

It will probably be the usual story, people want shiny objects, other people want shiny objects, before you know it there are thousands of the lemming like types all wanting these shiny objects that aren't really any better than the "cheap,nasy tack " without an apple badge.

no, and as a result I can make and recieve calls (without them cutting out)
Browse the web at a decent speed,
and my calls do not get constantly diverted to my answerphone


Oh, and i can change my battery if it runs out.....

P.S and my phone was free, and open source...
