Well Rebecca, tax evasion and the threat of jail aside you obviously have got life sussed. Jesus said he came for the sinners and as in your mind you are good,you are all aright. You do not need abundant life, you do not need forgiveness no you are all right. Good for you.

That's exactly right, Chico: I do not need some higher being and associated myths and legends to tell me what's right and what's wrong through dubious metaphors, and it is not the threat of me ending up in a burning hell forever that would make me do good. I'd rather be someone good because I believe in being good, rather than doing it because I want the heavenly rewards and am afraid of the hellish punishment if I don't.

Religion is just like taxation, isn't it - obey and you'll be left alone, trespass and you'll be punished. Don't think. Don't challenge. Don't question. Just do it - many people better than you have thought it through, so that you don't have to use your brain but simply follow the flow.

Chico, not sure what your moral/relegious objections are towards tax evaders? As its been a while since I read the bible, but didn't Jesus sit and dine with Sinners on a regular basis - a group which was described as including thiefs, prostitutes and tax collectors... but not tax evaders
