    Now, far cough.

Edit - in response to a spam post which seems to have, er, disappeared. It was there, honest.

Speaking of great musicians named Billy, I see Mr Billy Preston of Get Back fame died yesterday he was 59.

              Mike P,
I was a pretty crap drummer and I can do a better solo than the guy off Iron Butterfly. It's very basic stuff.
See my earlier post on this thread on great drum solos of all time.
Give 'em a listen and tell me what you think.

Right, that explains your name then!
(Big fan of the older FM stuff from the Peter Green days, Green Manalishi is still awesome).

As to Inna-gadda, you might be right, though it's not just the drum solo, but the rest of the drumming after that that I found impressive.

Nice list though, would probably have have mentioned same Paice & Bonham performances myself. Must still have a listen to the other two.

Nope! Name comes from a car I used to own.
                  Big fan of FM though.
There's a great drum break on "The Gates of Delirium" by Yes, from 1974's Relayer , courtesy of Alan White, (no, not the ex-Oasis drummer)

Henry VIIIs band had a drummer called A. White. There's a picture of him in some gallery.
