I think it's because we all know that Liebore are a pack of treacherous, theiving, envious, petty, vindictive feckwits, (allegedly), that nobody sees the point.
If he resigns he'll only go on paid gardening leave for a few weeks before coming back in yet another post.
At least when the Tories where caught out they had the decency to resign and stay resigned.

The feckwits who vote them in won't care, ("isn't Gordon doing a good job with the economy", "That's right, tax those rich b*st*rds so I can get more benefits", "Give me an ID card now, if you've nothing to hide you've nothing to fear").
