When my parents ring from home, the number is withheld - think it's because it's an Irish phone number, so that wouldn't work really would it DP?Bazza gets caught

I get calls from abroad no problem. You've probably got sleazy parents to go with the new boyfriend.Originally posted by cailin maith View PostWhen my parents ring from home, the number is withheld - think it's because it's an Irish phone number, so that wouldn't work really would it DP?

I'll call my phone provider (not BT) now we're officially set up - we've kept the old number I think but were in limbo while being transitioned with the provider.
It seems odd since we have not had a single cold-call since moving on, ONLY this damn beeping... today it's gone critical, multiple calls per hour.
I'm not sure blocking withheld numbers would work. Call centres (who do call with genuine reasons sometimes!) sometimes come up as hidden IIRC, as do international calls last time I had caller ID... and it's very annoying if someone has to change their mobile phone settings to be able to call me.

WHSOriginally posted by OwlHoot View PostTry hooking up a FAX to receive the incoming FAX. If that works, you'll at least know who the sender(s) is/are.
I got WinFax hooked up to catch it. One snotty phonecall later threatening to tell the dept who run the TPS about them stopped the faxes."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

Hmm, I have the PC connected to my phoneline for broadband, will that allow it to accept normal phone calls through the microfilter thingie?Originally posted by cojak View PostWHS

My call provider says they cannot tell who is calling me, they only monitor outgoing calls from my number. Sounds a bit useless to me, maybe that's a price you pay for not using BT for your line rental.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

It's R2D2.
Something about Luke and the princess being stuck in a trash compactor.
He was trying to stop it but the number in his directory was missing the galactic dialling code for Lord Vaders ship.I am not qualified to give the above advice!
