I accepted 15 % cut in an already crappy rate to make it even crappier, only for the reason "something is better than nothing"...

So i'd say GFI...."go for it" to be precise

Even some of the World's "most admired" banks have recently been going through this cut process.

Who's doing the admiring? Bankers? Or the same people as admired UBS last year?

It is a bank, how did you guess?
I've seen how many jobs are out there (or not out there) so I'll accept it for now. But I might see how things go towards the end of April...

I declined the 15% cut 4 weeks ago for certain reasons.

            A. They are still making a good profit and they were just at it.
            B. The job was really crap.
            C. I have a plan B that could turn out good if I could get a good run at it.
            D. I only want to work 6 months a year now and see the Ashes this year.

Brilliant. Did you tell them that?

my ClientCo is imposing 10 - 15% rate cut to all contractors at renewal.

I'm on an important strategic project so they've made some allowances. I've accepted a slightly under 7% cut but they've given me 6 mths extn rathewr than normal 3.

I know they could still terminate under terms of contract but, as others have said, something is better than nothing right now.

Do I know you? I've just been given a heads up that that will happen where I am.

Not really worried though, as I'm not due for renewal for another few months and we'll all be living in tents stealing food from the UN in the next couple of months...

They're always going to say 'take it or leave it'. They're never going to say 'assuming that's OK with you'.
