If the novelty does wear off, flog it for a profit. The other cabins are in the process of being flogged off, 400m apart - so it's not exactly a camp.
2 miles from the nearest road, golden eagles, do you wanna go halves on it ?

That's a good idea, but my OH has a very severe reaction to midgie bites We're trying to find the stuff we like (which is Wester Ross upwards) without midgies. Not easy.

          which island ?

It was Arran which is the biggest tourist Island, they have cash machines in the main village now but HBOS run the mobile bank.

It was not so bad in the summer when there are loads of tourists but in the winter many places will just shut down and open places cut their stock.

It is very much a different story going somewhere for a week or two each year and actually running a house or living there. Still, I would say go for it.

Arran, never been to Arran, but I did spend a few years living on St Kilda, so having no bank wouldn't be much of a problem AFAIAC

                  Buying property?

You must be an optimist. Why not wait until prices crash, or at the very least don't rise significantly in the short term.

because I dont follow the herd. I am an individual who ploughs his own furrow, if it's cheap, I buy, if it's expensive, I dont buy. If it's lager, I buy a lot

Savaged by a midgie. I never realised that was possible.
