It'll be pretty easy for the tories. I can imagine the election posters now.

    1979 Labour bankrupts Britain
    2009 Labour bankrupts Britain.
    Never again.

Don't you believe it !! They could get in again very soon because of the unfair way that boundaries are set up, and the way the certain sectors of UK society always vote Labour, come what may.
Even if the Tories win, they have a poisoned chalice to take hold of and Labour can start blaming them for problems that were actually caused by Labour. The Tories have to be very careful.

I believe some boundaries are to be adjusted soon, which will lessen the imbalance a bit.

How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Lemme see, history of people using that phrase?

Churchill on British Empire, 1940. Arguably on the way out in 8 years.
Hitler on Third Reich, 1933. Gone in 12 years.
Ian Smith, on white Rhodesia, 1965. Gone in 15 years.

So if anyone wants to proclaim 1000 years of power, I won't lose any sleep over it. Their fate is sealed.

Erm, yes, but in the case of the second and third, they made a lot of people's lives pretty unbearable during their short time in power.
