Yay! RSPCA lady just came round and we passed her interview, so we can adopt next week.

The most we have had in the past was 6! And none on them EVER bought home a dead bird or animal, frankly, they were all to stupid.

Also they used to come in to use the litter tray. I'm not saying they were perfect, but If they have responsible owners, cats need not be a nuisance.

This is ridiculous. They should be offered to close relatives first, grand-cats next, and only if none can be found, to humans. you aren't gay are you Pogle ?

I have to vet people on a regular basis as prospective adoptees for cats who need homes.

You have to discern from the well meaning to the good home to the so not suitable for a pet, any pet.

I also issue each person with leaflets outlining what is expected and the responsibilities of owning a pet.

A lot of people do not realise that having a pet is a financial repsonsibility as well and often they are abandoned when the going gets tough.
I have had instances whereby people move home and the pets are left behind to fend for themselves.

Not everyone realises that cats or dogs will live for a considerably long time with good care.
People often think they can get rid of them if things go wrong in a relationship. (I had to check a cat out for homing the other day as the owner is going through a divorce and wants rid of her ex's cat).

Nice to see that there are some responsible animal lovers over there, who conduct an indepth analysis on deciding on a domesticated animal, as opposed to those who purchase on a whim.

Pet cats are highly unnatural predators: they get well fed and then have all day to sit around stalking local wildlife to murder it without reason. I suppose that makes them a good match for humans, the only other creatures to kill for fun. Not their fault, they were born that way (they need a social worker), but people shouldn't keep them; or should keep them to themselves.

And they go everywhere and tulip in people's gardens. If my neighbour came and shat in my garden I'd be annoyed. If he let his dog do it I'd ask him not to. Why am I supposed to just accept the excrement when it comes from a cat?
