Being a Yorkshireman who was in enemy territory (Lancashire) for more than a year I can't accept the idea of beans with fish or pie and chips, it's just wrong!!!!!!

Peas and gravy all the way. The boarder wars may have calmed down a little, but the pea and gravy accord is in place with equal vigour irrespective of what side of the Pennines I am.

Oh God, no! Why do they have to be mushy? Why not garden peas or petits pois, or even (at a push) mange tout? Peas shouldn't look like they've already been eaten once.
