I am not a middle laner – remember, we are talking the M62 here where lane 1 is constantly jammed with lorries doing 56, or 40 where we go onto the ascent for the Pennines.

On a nice clear motorway driving to Scotland I always use lane 1 where this is clear.

Even lane 2 is a very dangerous option as lorries pull out to drag race – I have seen soooo many collisions on that road doing just that.

If you were driving on the left when not overtaking, how is it possible that he could "undettake" you?

I would suggest that maybe you could have moved over to lane 2, let him continue his journey unobstructed, and the incident would have been avoided.

One really has to beg the question HOW people get to the point where they risk peoples lives and completely lose the plot on a fast, open motorway with no queuing traffic!

In order for this to happen the creator (I have some suspicions) will have to lead us through a series of pathetic missadventures into the dating game, the likes of which we haven't seen since sprite boy. This will be followed by them joining a dating site, inevitably leading to the long drawn out dilema of whether the latest fictional partner is 'the one'.

The next step in the process is for weekly doomsday scenarios, is she cheating, am I impotent, I don't like her parents, I feel suffocated etc etc ad nauseum.

It's gonna be a looong summer I fear.
