I'm sure you're correct as always and Billy Bragg is only doing it to ease his middle class guilt.

Quite simple really. Your world that is.

I like Billy Bragg, thought provoking lyrics.
I just find his politics at odds with his life style.
I find it a tad hypocritical when the rich spout about poverty and social justice from their Ivory towers.

            More Champoo anyone?

Between the Wars is my fave, New England is well up there too.
            TV Smith is better.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Someone care to explan to me why he's not allowed to 'spout about poverty and social justice'?

He wasn't always rich, but somehow theres an implication that he's not allowed to hold those opinions any more cause he's made some cash. How come?

Is Billy Bragg the most successful singer who can't sing? Very probably. Good songwriter, but he should really leave the performing to other people (like Kirstie McCall doing New England).

Why are people talking about his politics? It's an act. It's no different to The Spice Girls and Girl Power - it's just a marketing tool.

Snaw, I think it is inconsistent for him to spout about 'the workers state' ie communism or socialism, and live the life of someone who has made a shedload of cash from the system he so abhors. He has spent his life living in the free west, criticising it while giving succour to totalitarian dictatorships. (Which he conveniently ignores) Remember when he played in East Germany, at the invitation of that government.

If he believes in socialism so much, why not go and live there and see how far he gets when he tries to criticise the government. (Ooops, the people there didn't like it either and have overthrown most of these states)

There's always North Korea, Billy, although, somehow I don't think he wants to acknowledge the reality of 'socialism'.

I didnt say he can't comment, I said it was hypocritical.
He has every right to tell us about his politics.
If he is so concerned about the poor why doesnt he let a few stay in his mansion, or why doesnt he give his music away instead of charging for it.
If he doesnt believe in the privelidged rich there is so much he could do not to be one of them.
Surely if he had the courage of his convictions he would walk the walk and not just talk the talk.

Who is this Billy Bragg character? One of your tree hugging, vegetarian types, Sal?

As for Tony, whilst I respect him for finessing his way into power, he is still a grinning twat.

And to think you call us idiots

That's not to say I think any less of you, but you still need a course of anti-stupidity pills.

Ah well, at least they'll not get in next time around.
