It's like yesterday, I asked one of my technicians to put the NHS records database on a DVD and post it to me, and, being a jobsworth, he refused.

Agreed, fit it yourself, or get the Polish tenants to do it.

How ironic, a thread on a contractor's forum moaning about bad service and using red tape as an excuse for work evasion.

What seems to be the deciding factor in most things these days is price, not quality.

When you lower the price the quality is usually compromised.

Why did you pick Curry's as a supplier may I ask?

It's the new regs designed to stop stupid people killing themselves, wiring a plug would be beyond anyone below the age of 30 these days.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

All applicances now come with plugs on them so why would you need to learn to wire them?

An isolation switch actually protects the electrical circuit, and purportedly saves about 44% on energy costs.

                  Ha Ha busted.

                  Couple of reasons:

Had a discount code for online order.
                  Free delivery.
                  Offered an installation svc.
                  Cheap washing machine.

Big fan of JL and their svc, but as it was for tenants, put on my scrooge hat.

I take on board all the comments but it's the feckin work attitude nowadays that sticks in the throat - British service men nowadays honestly think they are doing you a favour.

                  More immigration is the answer!

I have some furniture delivered. The store said we deliver to a room of your choice.

The delivery men arrived (50+ yrs old, non-immigrant "Union" looking types).

I said "can you put the furniture upstairs please?".

In an instant, he said, "No. Health and Safety."

Dropped the furniture in the hall-way and fooked off.

                      How?
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
