According to the latest research, IT is already at the bottom of the job satisfaction league table ranking only 66 out of 81 occupations, in a study by the University of Bath.
The study leader, Prof Michael Rose, said "ICT professionals emerge from the survey less satisfied with involvement, sense of achievement, job security and training provided."
It is difficult to remain positive when you work with information technology. It keeps going wrong and nobody outside IT understands or trusts it. IT workers are all tarred with the same brush, so when the family computer goes wrong, or Skype stops working, as it did this month, the computer guy gets all the blame.
