Two men who raped and threatened to kill a young woman after driving her to a country lane have been imprisoned for a total of 12 years.
Their terrified 26-year-old victim told the High Court in Glasgow that one of her attackers called her "white scum" during the prolonged ordeal.

Ranna Singh, 26, and Mohammed Yousaff, 35, both from Glasgow, were each jailed for six years after denying rape.

They will be monitored in the community for two years after their release.

Temporary judge Alistair Stewart QC said: "You were both convicted of a nasty, unpleasant crime.

"You put a vulnerable young woman through what must have been a terrifying ordeal.

Given so many major crimes in the news apparently down to migrants/some minorities I did recently start recording impartially the nature of all major violent crimes that appeared on the main and UK pages of BBC and quality newspaper websites and so far it does not look good. If there is a bias, it is not mine, but that of the likes of the BBC, Guardian etc. in what they choose to report most prominently.

Because something is not politically correct it does mean it is factually incorrect and some PC ideas are simply idiotic, especially the notion that citizens of violent and corrupt countries are likely to be good citizens. Who is committing those crimes, tourists? If you check the UK foreign prison population against the WHO figures for homicides you will find some rather unsurprising correlations.

It should also be borne in mind that the failures of a lax system to exclude gangsters and other criminals are felt most by the useful law abiding sorts of the same communities as some very recent murders show.

Has anyone else noticed how people who kidnap, sexually assault and murder small children are almost exclusively white men. Now we don't go round looking at white men suspiciously or implying there's something wrong with the white community, so let's have a little perspective when it comes to minority groups too. Most people are decent and a few in every community are not.

Not at all a racist remark as I said we don't go round blaming white people in general (and nor should we) - but I can't think of any of the notorious child kidnapping and killing cases where the perpetrator has been non-white. I'm not sure what to make of it, nothing probably. I think we have double standards - when an 'ethnic' commits a crime, it's a race or immigration problem, when a white person does, it's just one of those things. Fair point about the children found in the Thames, though - I admit I'd forgotten that, probably because the kidnapping was not in the press, but rather the finding of a body. Is it lots of children now? I must have missed a lot of them in the news.
