I've built up a good network of people at my last 3 clients on LinkedIn, and had some useful introductions as well as the opportunity to go for a couple of gigs. A useful way of informally staying in touch IMHO.

I'd regard it as a grown-up facebook too.

I got my last contract through Linked In and I've been contacted about a few others.

i am on linked in and i try to put professional positive comments to my excollegues/clients/subordinates (whom i like ofcourse).

most people in general return the favour, that way u build up an online reference.

I'm in Linked in - if you're in PCG they have a "group" that you can join as well....

I've been on Linked in since just before being made redundant from my last permi job.
I've found it a useful way to keep up with professional contacts.
Been contacted about a couple of gigs (didn't come to anything though).
I've also found it useful for helping my clients find potential candidates for roles they have.

That's right big guy, laugh it up - I'm middle aged compared to half the young whipper-snappers on this board.
