The security at major UK airports is getting farcical. Going out of the UK last week (prior to the bomb scare) there were 30 minute queues just to get through security. Coming back to the UK on Monday there was a 45 minute queue to get through passport control. We all know which section of the community the terrorists come from so why does the government continue to appease that community and waste time and money by putting strict checks on the whole of the UK community just in order to show fairness. The time and money would be better spent on targeting the community that the perpetrators come from. Perhaps it’s time to revoke the visas of all foreign workers from the suspect countries.
The current situation would have been as daft as trying not to offend the Nazis during WW2.
What you really need is to fly BA in First/Business Class, or fly a lot - then you get treated to your own private security line.
"See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."
and not every irish person is catholic (myself included) or an ira sympathiser (myself included) but that didnt stop the authorities here insisting all irish people go through a seperate channel
back at the height of the IRA bombing campaign i remember having to go through a 'irish only' security line at heathrow. I wasnt offended...lets face it i couldnt be because the truth was irish people WERE bombing the UK. So how come the asians dont have to now? its because the government is scared of them. No matter how bad the IRA was, we didnt go suicide bombs and usually called them in. This lot have absolutely no boundaries of what they are willing to do.
Say that to the fathers of the two little children who were blown up in Warrington. Al Queda have killed far less innocent UK people than the good ol' IRA.
Paddy is right though, or you might as well do away with police photofits, just in case the wrong person is suspected.
I remember the good old days of this site when people used to moan about serious contractor related issues like house prices and immigration. How times have changed!?
They could provide a lane where you had to eat a bacon sarnie and drink a pint of bitter/lager. It would still be slow, but at least you wouldnt mind waiting so much.
