Doesn't work if you need to install software - no company network worth its salt would allow users admin or power user privileges to install software.

Most system admins who are on the ball will have already blocked proxy sites also.

Surfing the net is one thing, but I've done gig where permie IT staff do **** all except surf cr@p all day and let us contractors do all the work.

putty.exe needs no install, and most people's home IPs are not blocked

British Airways, British Telecom, National Australia Group (Clydesdale, Yorkshire banks)

Doesn't really matter who, the technique works as HTTPS proxies allow the connect command to forward ssh traffic on port 443, putty takes advantage of this. It generally works unless your home IP gets blocked.

If you get caught though, expect to get fired
