Would agree it is a stupid idea, except from what I understand is that the current system UK wide works more on "catchment area" which does not necessarily translate in "closest school", especially in areas with oversubscribed schools. Thus leading to situations where kids with a school that is a 5 mins walk away having to be driven to a school 30 mins away -
The Moulscombe ex-Head reckons that their problems are down to a hard-core of 30 badly-behaved pupils, who affect everyone else with a "study isn't cool" mentality. He wanted the power to exclude them.Originally posted by Hart-flootbut the Brighton&Hove lesbians have lots of kids
Ironically Brighton's schools problem is largely caused by the happy-clappy, socially liberal London media influx who refused to send their kids to schools where the Whitehawk & Mouslecoombe kids go! Ex-Brightonians & locals will understand that one ; Brighton is now very socially & sexually segregated. Consequently schools were closed down due to lack of demand and now Brighton is one or two schools short. Liberal parents - dontcha just luv'em lol
The council said no, and are instead making sure that everyone has the chance to enjoy their schooling with them.
Not sure where the council would put those pupils - perhaps a special school.Comment
