    Hawaii as well.

We went there for a holiday and planned our trip around a theme.

Start off on the most relaxed island, to hit chill out, spend a few days there, and then ramp it up, island by island, until we ended in the capital at the end.

    Thus, our order was :

Kauai = 3 days : Complete chill out bliss with little to do
Hawaii (Big Island) = 3 days : Kīlauea, start of the volcano experience
Maui = 7 days : This is the fun loving island, nightlife, bars, outdoor sports, the works
Oahu = 3 days : Honolulu : City time, plus ofc Pearl Harbour (or should that be Harbor, since I'm quoting a place name ?)

Fantastic place, and Maui is definitely the "honeymooners island" where you can walk hand in hand, feet being lapped by the sea, as the sun goes down, on a private beach. (If you don't fancy the sun going down, then we went in the middle of the night during a full moon and it was incredible)
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Seeing as CNN is my favourite channel at the moment, I was watching business traveller with that Richard Guest ******.

Anyway, Air New Zealand have just started flying London-Hong Kong-Auckland, as well as London-LA-Auckland.

I remember you used to get one free stopover in the South Pacific so this makes it an ideal RTW ticket.

I can heartily recommend Tahiti (and Moorea/Bora Bora), Cook Islands & Fiji.

          Suggestions please –

A really good trip I did many years ago was to start in Thailand and wander on down to the end of the Spice Islands:

If you're limited for time highlights would be Thailand, Malaya, Singapore, Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, and Komodo.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Costa Rica. There are lots of luxury retreats in the rainforests there.

Thanks for the ideas - Islands in the pacific sound good but then so does a trail, I guess energy levels being what they will be after the wedding will dictate perhaps remainnig in one place might be the answer...
