At lease they told you. Normally they just don't turn up.
And there are stories of them sneaking up your path and putting a 'sorry we missed you card' through the letter box, whilst you are in.

Thats British Gas Home Services trick!. Was in all day and didnt even get the card. Phoned up and was told engineer had knocked...yer right....cancelled on the spot and got a full refeund.
