    Boomed-ish

I am joining the Dark Side - after a quarter of a century or so of Contracting! (and a few alias' on CUK)

Although I have been doing OK in keeping going with gigs with 1/2 decent rates - over the past few years it has become more of a ball ache:- in and out of IR35, a seemingly endless fight against Hector, NI etc blah blah blah

My last gig strongly hinted at wanting me to jump ship and stay with them as a permie... which although it didn't actually result in an offer in the end did result in me changing focus about what I wanted/was looking for.....

End result - I've accepted a permie offer.... that's it really.....

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Going perm after 25 years contracting, is that a CUK record?

Shoes!! Shoes are what I am having most issues with getting my head round.........

Although I did a few gigs years ago where suited and booted was de rigueur for at least the past 6-8 years dress code has been casual-casual (on the rare occasions I've needed to physically attend) meaning jeans & tees, polo-shirt at worst and shoes were trainers/cat boots but this is BusCasual and trousers & shirt expected so obviously that means real shoes!

I share your pain. after eons (or so it seems) of feckin suits etc, followed by years of full WFH, i hate having to attend Management meetings*

You two should just meet up and shag it out of your systems.
