It's a great excuse to mean he can't go campaigning in Wakefield or Mid Devon, where his name doesn't appear on any of the election leaflets. And here in Devon they are focussing on the Tory Candidate being an "ex-head teacher". She was a head teacher of a tiny primary school for a year, but has been running a beauty salon for a lot longer (https://www.studiohbeauty.com ).
