Any of you in a MiFiD contract at the moment or looking for one? I am. But it's taking clients ages to get back with feedback/interviews. One agent told me today that they are suprised at how quiet it is and a few clients think the deadline will be pushed back yet again. What are your experiences?

I agree IBs are taking their time on MiFiD work. Very odd, but perhaps compliance is to MiFiD is being joined are being achieved through the 100's of transformation projects going on at the mo (doubt it but you never know) -

... sounds bolloxs to meMiFID – the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive – comes into effect on 1 November 2007, when it will replace the existing Investment Services Directive (ISD). Amendments to national legislation and rules to carry out to its provisions must be made by 31 January 2007. MiFID extends the coverage of the current ISD and introduces new and more extensive requirements that firms will have to adapt to, in particular for their conduct of business and internal organisation. How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't thinkComment

I am not working on this but I do take an interest. MiFID is one of those things that people have spent the last year or so thinking "we are going to have to do something about this but we don't know what yet".Originally posted by bobsmithldnAny of you in a MiFiD contract at the moment or looking for one? The approach most companies seem to be taking is that they don't want to plough a lot of resources into it until the details are finalised (which has taken an age). The place I am working at at the moment haven't finished their gap analysis yet.
I expect it will be another couple of months and then the sh1t will start hitting the fan.Last edited by Gonzo; 12 January 2007, 03:56.Comment

Most of the MIFID work to date as been a high level Gap analysis based on the Level 1 and 2 directives. There has not been much detail until the FSA released the Level 3 details.-At the end of the month the government will introduce legislation and I suspect implementation will finally lift off.Sola gratia
