Same news as before: fraudsters, cybercriminals alike are selling ill-gotten "coins" to mugs who are willing to buy this tulip.

The beta is live, there is an app (on testflight for ios not sure about Android but you probably need an invite). The app supports sending/receiving BAX/BTC/ETH.

You can donate (BAX) to causes in the app which seems to be a big part of the company's mission (as well as providing banking services to the 'unbanked'). You can add Babb 'friends' in the app and it shows who has donated to which causes and comments as well.

They didn't share too much of the roadmap, most of the talks were the different causes pitching for donations (everyone in the beta got given some free BAX tokens).

Lots of networking with free drinks/nibbles at the top of Canary wharf and a goodie bag. Was a good evening, will definitely go to the next one. Lots of opportunities to collaborate/promote/plan b etc.

Have been networking with various stakeholders during the bear market - you learn so much. Networking networking networking, don't knock it.

                  Status

The Status app is now live... been following the developers working on this project over the last year. Decentralised end to end encrypted messaging, web 3.0 Ether apps in app, exchange value between peers without touching a bank - awesomeness.

Interesting, not come across this 'web3' initiative before. So they are using Ethereum blockchain to provide access and state across a distributed web, where the user has a typical crypto private key to access their account in the blockchain.

What is being done to ensure those private keys can never be lost?

Plenty of bitcoins are lost 'forever' (until quantum computing cracks the access, and it will happen before those creating the bitcoin algorithms are aware and can counter it, causing those big wallet holdings to disappear overnight ) due to the wallet creator losing their key.

Seems the weak link in making something mainstream for non-techies to use seamlessly to encourage public take-up.

Ironically the new web won't be web based, it will be accessed via devices without a web based user interface, providing more bespoke presentation (not always visual) that fits the user's needs.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.
