I've never bought anything with them - I'm in it 100% for short term speculation, although that might change as the tech becomes more widely adopted.

not me, - can't see any reasonable way to convert it to hard currency, except maybe £5 per transaction.

It's very early days yet. Once they become more mainstream I'll use it for more common use.

Oh, but right now cryptotulip is useless for all practical purposes, other than it keeps going up in price?

Who is going to be paying anybody with something that keeps going up in price so fast? That's the whole point why inflation is important - without inflation people won't spend money, so there won't be jobs for them to earn in the first place.
