You have not answered my question. Anyway considering freemasonry is not open to everyone, atheists are excluded. Why is that? If it is not a religion then why is belief in (a) God mandatory?

Freemasonry requires its members to believe in the concept of one God. Be that Allah, God or whatever. It is a belief in a "Supreme Being" if you will.

When an oath is taken in a Lodge meeting, it is taken on whichever volume of sacred law is precious to the person making the oath, Holy Bible, Koran(sp) or whatever.

My belief is none of your business just as yours is none of mine.

What I will ask you Chico is what is the difference between a 3rd degree Freemason and a 33rd degree one?

Chico, don’t be put off by all of these atheists. You are doing a fine job. I for one have found God this week. You keep on talking tulip, because it was while having a tulip did I become one with God.

3You shall have no other gods before or besides Me.

5You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me

6But showing mercy and steadfast love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Which bit are you begging to differ with Chico? The bit that says that unless someone agrees with everything you believe in then they are hated by the God that you believe in them and that God will punish the children for the sins of the father? You really are selective with your bible studies aren't you - how about do unto others has you would have done or love thy neighbour - missed those bits did you?

If Chico is not a troll (which I suspect he is - no-one could be THAT stupid) he and his ilk are just as much of a danger as the mad mullahs! That cartoon is blatantly inflamatory

Oh dear, the usual diatribe from you when comphrehensively lose an argument or completely miss the point. Why is the cartoon inflammatory? Just because you happen to be a member of a small time lodge somewhere in the English backwater does not mean you know everything about its history. I rest my case. Next!!
