When a train driver (stop/go/open/close doors) earns a basic of £50K p.a, would you expect otherwise? -
I think the ones on Southern have difficulty with some of that and require a second person to remind them.stop/go/open/close doorsComment

£1.17 per mile (£20 total).Originally posted by tomtomagain View PostThis doesn't help answer your question but ...
I remember reading that on a pound per mile basis the Heathrow Express is the most expensive train journey in the world.
A positive bargain compared to the £4.90 cash price for a journey from Leicester Square to Covent Garden, whose platforms are 300m apart. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment

From what I understand you can also get a tube driver 'lite' which is two night shifts a week for £25K p.a. That's £25K a year for a 15 hour week. Oh and the regular drivers get £50K minimum.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostWhen a train driver (stop/go/open/close doors) earns a basic of £50K p.a, would you expect otherwise?Comment
