Go for something similar, but Vogels.

Makes better, slimming, cheese toasties than the one you quoted

From what I gather the only 'Diet' that works is the Atkins Diet. Very low carbs. In theory you could eat kilos of cheese or butter on this diet to no effect, achieving this in practice is a lot more difficult.

IIRC from my 'O' level biology nutritionally speaking the body burns up food in this order (and storing away as fat anything in excess)

      Instantly:
      Alcohol
      Carbohydrates

      After 'processing':
Fat (processed into fatty acids and carbohydrates, which is why the body stores excesses into fat)
Proteins (these are vital for cell building but contribute nothing to energy, the excess is treated as waste)

Yes Atkins is one slightly extreme version of the low carb diet. From my experience the only long diet that works long term is upping the protein (a lot) and cutting out as many processed carbs a possible.

If you need carbs, reach for some fruit or increase the veg and salad on your plate.

Just cutting out processed crap full of carbs and sugar is the key. I get my carbs from a glass or two of red wine.

Unfortunately, most sauces include scandalous amounts of sugar (and salt). So one can't use much tomato sauce or chilli sauce, or practically anything besides pepper sauce and maybe Worcester sauce.

Yep. People sit at a desk all day, eating sandwiches made of processed wheat, then go home and eat a huge bowl of pasta (more processed wheat) with a jar of pasta sauce (mostly refined sugar).

You couldn't eat a worse diet unless you are training for sumo!
