Yeah, clearly there are a few things that are very wrong on that photo:

1) assault rifle is without pistol grip - not good
2) no silencer on the rifle
3) no scope on the rifle
4) spare mag isn't attached to the main - home defense may require more than 30 bullets

Generally speaking I think MP5 PDW would be more appropriate for children of this age:
