Are you on bbc.COM by any chance?
Are you outside the UK and trying to get on to bbc.co.uk?
If so, they've been doing adverts for years. bbc.CO.UK is still ad-free (although if an event is sponsored by a particular company, you might see their logo in some of the images)…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore -
I noticed when I was in France a couple of weeks ago that news.bbc.co.uk had ads.Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

That might have been what you typed in (or what you've saved in your favourites), but they automatically redirect you to bbc.com when you're outside the UK.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
