    Thx for the comparison.

This debate is very useful and an eye opener as anyone following this will see how the temperature dropped during the little ice age and has risen since to a similar level today.

I would also recommend Hubert Lamb, again a similar result.

I have to say I enjoy this debate as we uncover evidence from independent studies that corroborate one another.

I think we're finally doing a bit of science here on CUK...good stuff keep it up.

    Remember it's climate cycles

The way they act.. they don't care about the climate. They want power and control
If they really cared about the planet they'd be trying to reduce the worlds population, and researching how to make the human race self succient in food and energy needs rather than create bogus fears to justify their careers

There's enough real problems in the world, without inventing ones that don't exist
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

well, I am not sure about the biggest problems in the world today
but I AM sure about one thing

don't judge people by what they say. judge them by what they do

Yes indeed, you can clearly see a 1000 year cycle in both.
There are numerous good ways to identify cycles in time series data, just saying 'look - peak, trough, peak - must be a cycle' is not one of them. Riddle me this: we're pretty sure the lower temperatures of the Little Ice Age had something to do with the reduced solar activity of the Maunder Minimum, at the moment the sun is again having a minimum - solar cycle 24 was the weakest for decades - while surface temperatures climb ever skywards.

              Funny kind of cycle.

I would also recommend Hubert Lamb, again a similar result.
Lamb's much-reproduced curve is of CET, and just a schematic (non-quantitive) and very early attempt.

Yes you're getting there, that's absolutely correct that the longer time cycles are probably driven by the sun.

The little ice age was a phenomenen that extended over several hundred years, so you wouldn't expect the global temps to respond immediately to the sun. However in addition to the sun, there are ocean cycles. These are the immediate drivers. So what you'll see is the global rise up and down over approx 60 years, and over the centuries the temperature will probably drift up and down as the oceans slowly warm and cool.

As for your suggestion the temperature climbing ever skywards, you're wrong. The temperatures have been flat for the last 18 years.

                Climate cycles.

In the lower troposphere, maybe (but watch what happens as the El Nino develops). But I said surface temperatures.

That must be a relief for you. just imagine someone dying from cancer and up pops a solution albeit tried only on a rat with success . what is the person going to say "it was never published in a recognised journal"

Your attitude reinforces my point which is that climate change has been hijacked by people pretending they care and that it is a matter of life and death. What they really want is attention for themselves and to be able to manipulate what they do not like.
