School Trips

[unixman]

*I was a model student in Primary school so got through on academic merit. Turned out to be a phase.

Lol. Cue the humblebrags.

My school took us to Alton Towers. Strict rules about no alcohol; wouldn't want any of the kids coming back legless.

I thought the second line made it clear that academic excellence was only temporary. I got kicked out of Sixth Form if it makes you feel better?

There is a trip to Rome in year 10 which is about £450 a head. We can't do it for much less than that so the girls are on it. Its changing compared to previous years as the tour of the colosseum is very much worth the 6euros it costs on top of general access...

£450 a head, do you have to pay to throw people to the lions now ?

[Platypus]

I wonder if the teachers need to pay too?

They do. At least the ones I know.

They do. At least the ones I know.

At school our class went to the IOW, it cost 15/6d

[Gumbo Robot]

We didn't used to have school trips.

It was thought of as being unfair on those who couldn't afford it.

....

....

Parents take kid on holiday in school time = fined and criminal record.

School organises med cruise, skiing trips etc in school time and it's all ok.

Pardon my rudeness, I just thought you came up with a near-perfect humblebrag.

humblebrag - definition of humblebrag in English from the Oxford dictionary

You knew this was coming before you "came" in your lady.

Should have gone to .... never mind.
