Don't even think about it... They're the biggest bunch of cun7s going - they haven't got the first clue, on the whole. One of their fairly senior managers is the drunk in my village, which is ironic as it's a 'dry' company.

I'd rather collect trolleys on Kwik Save car park than work for that bunch of 'nanas again.

Have to agree with that view. EDS do get into some major projects and the learning /career enhancement opportunities are pretty good as a result.

Just don't ever engage them as a supplier...

Aren't you a bit old to be working in IT? Shouldn't you be pottering around in St Mary Mead pruning the roses and solving local murders

I worked for EDS on a contract once
I loved it as basically you can do what you like as long as you produce 100 pages of documentation (that nobody will read). You can do nothing, as long as you document it, it's OK!
Also you can be 100% sure that whatever you're doing will not be released live (especially if it works - EDS has a non-delivering reputation to protect, you know!) so go for it! Bugs, "features", dodgy programming, shortcuts, crap,..... it's all good as far as EDS is concerned, as they still charge for it

Also I have found in EDS a surprising amount of managers will allow you to go on paid-for training courses. For a contractor, this is womewhat unusual and you have to take advantage of this. We all did then.

Stay in the contract as long as you can, learn other stuff whilst you're there, be aware that your performance will be measured exclusively by the number of documentation you produce.... and you'll be sweet!

But I am not surprised I sound like someone you know, if you've worked at EDS there are 10s of people like me! Even if we weren't like that at the start, we soon merged into a similar way of "working"!!!!
