Overtime

I have been asked if I'd do some overtime as I'm off for most of August.
Never been in this position before, if I remember correctly my contract says something like ' rates for overtime will be negotiated separately'.

Any suggestion, advice etc...

Are you paid hourly or daily rate?

If hourly - double it.

If daily, 1*1.5 it.

Worth pushing for as the others have said, but if taking a whole month off they might not want to pay overtime rates!

what does your contract say - mine has the same rate for extra hours as for normal contracted hours.

My contract has nothing re: overtime but the client pays the same rate. I don't mind too much really as it's a reasonable rate and allows me to show some committment to the client so as to secure further work.
