This might be in the wrong area, but I'll throw it out there.

Code Reviews and implications on IR35. Are there any issues with having to submit code for inspection by permies ?

What about when permies ask you to review their code ? I get the feeling that this bad, but wonder what the panel think.

Why would it be a problem? It's usually part of following the development methodology. In some industries, e.g. parts of pharma, it's a legal requirement - FDA.

Which is quite absurd really.

As a PM I've had suppliers like IBM, Unisys and CSC review code produced in house and had in house developers and testers review code produced by suppliers quite frequently. This kind of review process can save time/cost in the long run and improve quality considerably. I've lost track of the number of errors caught and eliminated in reviews.

Would having permies test contractor developed code, or contractors testing permie developed code have any implication on IR35? I see code reviews in the same light - a kind of "eyeball" test.

I don't see that it is the "being told to use a process" that makes any difference at all to IR35.

It is the being told to "attend meeting X on date Y" that does that.
