In this particular occasion it wasn't the only reason. One (of the three) interviewers muttered the words "Disappointed with the answer" after I attempted to answer his qustion and the other interviewers were stiff necked for a long part of the interview... that pretty much sealed it for me. It also didn't help that one of their questions were vague... even after I asked them to clarify. If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here. -
But this was the job interview?Originally posted by pmeswani View PostOne (of the three) interviewers...
If my memory serves me, my DV interview / chat lasted about an hour and although we discussed topics such as finances, personal relationships it wasnt as uncomfortable as i was led to believe / expected.
I would have now reservations with going through the process again.

It was an interview for a contract. Some will call it a job interview, some will call it a contract meeting, some will call it something else. I'll leave it up to you to call it whatever you want.Originally posted by AlanR View PostBut this was the job interview?

I'm quite open about my finances with everyone other than my parents. I've never had a relationship before... don't really have any friends... a bit of a loner. I would probably buckle under the pressure in the interview. Would end up making up that I went out with Keira Knightley just to shut 'em up.

To which you replied - I was quite disappointed with the question.Originally posted by pmeswani View Post.... One (of the three) interviewers muttered the words "Disappointed with the answer" ...
That I find puzzling. From what else you've said, you imply that family = blood relatives , rather than kids + spouse. Once your an adult, you can do what you like. If they don't like it; tough. They've a choice - put up, or cut off contact. However, if you know my family, they would firmly place a solid steel boot up my posterier if they ever found out what I do week in / week out
It's not like it's hard to disappear enough to make tracing you reasonably difficult. And it they still won't disappear, take out a restraining order.
I'm not criticizing here, I'm genuinely baffled.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

Would it help if I said that I need a roof over my head? Currently living at home, have some personal debts...only savings I have personally accumulated is my pension (not much of one to be honest). Once I have given up the gambling habit, I'll save up some money for a deposit for a new house and wait for the Credit Crunch Crisis to die down significantly.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostThat I find puzzling.
