    Java contract market?

    Hi guys,

I have recently finished my contract and looking for another one. But, the market for Java/j2ee(i got 7 yrs experience) is not good as it use to be. I have not got any interview calls so far since 3 weeks. Last year same month it was good and i got my contract so quick (in 2 weeks).

Anyone share same opinion? it would be helpful if you write any reasons for the market slowdown...

    Thanks & Regards,
    Raj

A few weeks ago a couple of contractors at my current client decided to move on. Both left on a Friday and had a contract waiting on the Monday. Where are you based?

I had no probs - posted CV on the Saturday had a Java gig offered by the following Friday - even haggled the rate up. Ok it's turned out to be bugfixing / maintenance but it's a nice site on a nice biz park 20 mins from home. Shouldn't complain really + I get some Unix skills too

Did I mention it's an early finish on Fridays too

Perhaps you should rework your CV? I few tweaks to make it more specific to a certain role when applying for a role on jobserve never does any harm...
