thank you for giving their name. I will make a mental note of it.

It's always been the other way round for me: I have asked some agencies not to contact me again. In one case (the appalling Smarteo in Paris) they wouldn't accept that and kept calling me, often arguing that I was not justified in not taking their calls; not, apparently getting the message about how likely it was that I would ever work with them.

Sounds like you're not Pathway fodder. Wear that with pride!

Well that's a bit unprofessional of them isn't it? I would write a letter to the chief executive pointing out the attitude of his staff. Only 5 minutes effort...

Having not worked with you before and having got you an interview at a high profile financial client, why would I then stick my reputation on the line for someon who's cv didn't ring true with the rates they were paying and you wouldn't commit to taking the job.

Also it is worth noting when you registered for this site it was July 2005. Why register for a contracor UK website when you have been living in NY from 2004 upto 2006 (dates on your cv) . After 4 years in the job this is only one of a handfull of times I have pulled someone from an interview.

If you have been out of the country for two years I wouldn't be doing my job properly unless I aksed for a technical reference.

You're not just trying to do your job properly, you're snooping, and doing it badly.
                1. you ask why one would register for a contractor UK website while living in NY. Maybe out of possible interest in contracting in the UK? What has such an observation to do with the interview anyway? It's just character assassination, and not very effective.
                2. The OP claimed that you accused him of lying about where he lived. Evidence? Or a guess based on some data which was not intended to be definitive for purposes other than those for which it was given? Nothing dishonest about that: I've sometimes been "living" in quite legitimate senses in up to 3 places at once.
                3. The OP claimed that you "accused" him of having his CV prepared by another company. Even if he had, is there anything wrong with that? A contractor's CV is a business presentation, not an "unseen" exam. But if it was just that his copy of Word has his own Co as "author", that makes you a laughing-stock.

Actually I could have put that all much more concisely, using only words from the final phrase.

I'm not a coder. But when I was, I took pride in commenting comprehensively.

How can I commit to taking a job before meeting the people I'd be working for? Sounds a bit silly to make a blind commitment like that.

Can you see anyone else who registered before July 2005? Why might that be?
I've been lurking here for years. And killing time is what contractors do best.

That's not true. I pulled myself from the interview. You were shouting pretty loudly at the time. Maybe you didn't hear.

Please don't phone me again. You're a nasty piece of work.
