Thanks for the caution dear coveredname.
Well I wouldn't hope they read us, because I don't want to be telling them that I was wet signing my correspondence to them with a completely different signature than the one I ve been using since adulthood.

If I end being the special case to go to court, then I wouldn't want to see my new signature featuring on any document allegedly signed that would have been produced as evidence.

That wouldn't have been funny.

And if I am being honest, I know this has been also the practice of a few people here.

You would have thought after Felicitas (the previous owner of the "debt") was found to have faked documents no-one would have bought said debt.

Yet here we are with another firm using different law firm to enforce a "debt" where the paperwork is known to be intentionally incomplete both claiming to have complete but equally unwilling to provide it..

So this is what i received by email from Trethowans today and basically all the information i require off them has to be obtained via me going through an identity process and sending them a £1postal order for any of my requests to be valid. They have acknowledged my emails to them with the email below but have not acknowledged recorded letters i have sent to them I will be contacting the FCA tomorrow via telephone to log my complaints about this whole decades long harassment form various parties.

As stated in previous comments, i have received letters regarding this subject matter from various parties but in regards to Trethowans /ethica resolve/west28th street limited i have received four letters and two emails

24/04/2026 Not a demand for payment letter
01/09/2026 Repayment Demand Letter

Looks like Professional Independent Trustees Limited did hold a moneyslenders registartion at some point before 2014 I'm goin to email the isle of man regulator to see if they can give me the dates of when this licence was obtained. If anyone already has this info could let us know.

Based on what I've found, the registration appears to have been a Moneylenders Registration under the Isle of Man Moneylenders Act 1991 held by Professional Independent Trustees Limited as trustee of the Garraway Trust. We know that because the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading published a notice confirming the cancellation of that registration on 23 June 2014.

What that registration would typically cover

A moneylender registration would generally permit the registered entity to carry on regulated moneylending activity within the Isle of Man regulatory framework that existed at the time. In simple terms, it is evidence that the entity was recognised as carrying on lending activity rather than acting entirely outside the regulatory system.

What it does

The cancellation notice does not tell us:

  • when the registration was first granted;
  • the registration number;
  • whether it was continuously in force throughout 2011-2013;
  • whether it covered every loan now being pursued;
  • whether the loans being claimed against you were made under that registration;
  • whether any exemption was relied upon instead.

Why this is important for your dispute

The existence of a cancellation notice actually suggests there was some form of regulatory registration prior to June 2014. That means the argument is probably no longer:

"PITL definitely had no registration."
Instead, the question becomes:

"What registration did PITL hold, exactly what did it authorise, and was it valid and applicable when my alleged loans were made?"
That's a very different question.

Where the money comes from, and why it matters before you pay anything
Not legal advice.

Everything here is from public records you can check yourself.
1. A litigation fund backed this from the start.
On 15 April 2021, West 28th Capital Ltd (13231579, West 28th Street's wholly owned subsidiary) granted a charge over its "Net Recoveries" to Katch Fund Solutions, acting for the Katch Litigation Fund, a Luxembourg fund. It's on Companies House (form MR01, the "Charges" tab). In plain terms, a litigation funder financed the operation and took security over the money recovered from borrowers. The charge was marked satisfied in April 2025. Legal Futures reported in December 2025 that the Katch Litigation Fund has been in self-liquidation since September 2025.
2. It still runs on borrowed money.
West 28th Street's accounts to March 2026 show about £4.1m of "other loans" from a lender that isn't named, with no registered security, against roughly £22k cash and net liabilities of about £1.1m. Who lends that money, and on what terms, isn't public. Neither is how the solicitors are paid.
3. Why that matters.
A business that runs on borrowed money needs cash coming in. Every "voluntary" payment, settlement or payment plan goes to that business and helps keep the operation going: the letters, the solicitors, the next round of demands, possibly the court claims. Their own Letter of Claim says that without voluntary payment they would need an FCA validation order and a court order. The FCA said on 2 November that its agreement is "by no means guaranteed", and that people should "consider carefully whether to make any payment".
So before you pay anything, even a small "goodwill" amount or a discounted "one-time" offer:
remember that money paid voluntarily is unlikely to come back, and the FCA statement and HMRC's guidance both say to consider carefully and get advice first;
dispute in writing instead, and ask for the documents;
and if you're struggling, tell them in writing. The FCA statement says you should raise any difficulties with those contacting you.

I have located a public notice issued by the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading stating that the registration of Professional Independent Trustees Limited as Trustees of the Garraway Trust under the Moneylenders Act 1991 was cancelled with effect from 23 June 2014.

I would be grateful if you could confirm the following:

  • The date on which that registration was first granted.
  • The dates during which that registration remained in force.

A voluntary payment validates the debt and means it can be pursued for another 6 years so don’t pay a penny

(Yes I am repeating this continually but it’s important).
