I worked somewhere with pool cars and I was given a hot hatch - a Type R to drive from Yorkshire via home for the weekend to Hemel Hempstead. My colleague chose the company Astra Max with livery on the side as he needed to move his daughter's rabbit hutch. The people we met with did not believe...
I was the manager to a contractor who was getting complaints to me from his BO. Turned out he was working away in a Travelodge and kept the same shirt all week to save ironing at the weekend. The agent was not so happy about being the person who had to tell him the reason why we had to part our...
How is everyone keeping - I see some familiar names still knocking about....
Curious about remote working versus office - Seen a couple of roles which look good, but starting to see most roles are now insisting on a couple of office days a week. Yes we are very lucky compared to how things were...
I would love to move to France where I have property on the med but thanks to Brexit it won’t happen a day longer than the 90 day rule, so that’s me stuffed for that one…. Doom, doom, doom…….
Has anyone done the NC500? We are going to be doing it over a long weekend - a hotel in Inverness at the start and the end, with maybe two or three overnights at camp sites on the route as back-up in preference to a hotel - will see how the day goes and book on the evening. When I say camping I...

Good morning, my name is Wilmslow I said as I helped the lady get her leg over..... the barbed wire fence to a field with sheep scattering in all directions from her little brown dog chasing them. Dog walking is an adventure!
Insurance question - Boring as heck I know....
Role will be inside IR35 from March and by business insurance with the accountants only offers an annual policy. I only need two months cover.
Are there any buy monthly policies to look at?
So, looks like I’m inside from Feb. Given that client seem happy to renew in this dessert we are in it looks like I need a decent umbrella and to wind down the Ltd Co.
Has anyone done the same lately - What’s a good trustworthy eel proved brolly these days?
A good gravy train until now I guess.
Can anyone suggest either a good bodycam app and harness for an iPhone or a decent bodycam with harness to wear around the chest over a coat, or maybe a cap? It’s for walking my puppy in case of any attacks or anything sinister as the travellers are frequently in our area (they don’t seem to...
Hi - long time since we chatted. So sorry for your news - Hope things get as settled for you as they can do. But FTC? Only joking, sounds like it’s the ideal role at the right time for you. Good luck with the upcoming weeks.
It’s strange times but the market is picking up. I took a contract three months ago which is more junior and specialised to my normal line of work. I have a renewal offer for six months. Kind of a nodding dog role but 100% remote. Would be nice to have a renewal to show otherwise it may look...
You need to declare and to be open about the facts. They will know - you need to be very upfront. These would be unspent as you have not had the penalty points and associated time and any punishment from your driving without due care considered.
To be honest they are likely to take a dim view...
