Worse Than I Thought
Worse Than I Thought
I had no idea the rate cuts were so wide spread.
Well you can add HSBC to the list at 10% with 30 days notice as of last week.
Not like there's anywhere else to go to at this time of the year so I guess I'll be saying 'Yes Sir. Thank you Sir. Three...
Any other banks out there cutting contractor rates in time for Christmas?
And if so by what %?
Nothing says 'Merry Christmas' like 'Take it or leave it'
Hello People,
I've set up my Ltd through Companies House and just got a new contract.
I've used Giant in the past but they screwed me most unpleasantly so I figured a Ltd would be the best bet.
Problem is no accountant.
Any suggestions?
Services vs Products
Services vs Products
I keep reading about IR35 rules and can anyone enlighten me on if there is a distinction made between a person providing services and another delivering a physical product?
The idea that one is not working unless they are producing a specific...
Current IR35 Contract
Current IR35 Contract
I don't think I was clear.
They claim to be able to keep you out of IR35 problems with an IR35 contract which they can either provide/modify.
My current contract with Giant is something called a Giant Strong Box contract which is supposed to be...
Hello to all the nutters out there who will take a simple thread and turn it into a debate about god knows what.
But has anyone heard of Sunday Solutions?
They claim to be almost completely IR35 compliant and bla di bla di bla da.
I'm currently with Giant  with a limited company and...
Thank You All
Thank You All
Thank you all ever so much for your help.
We have found someone and I'm certain that but for your generous words of encouragement it wouldn't have happened.
Keep the good cheer coming.
Yup

If necessary it can go longer than 2 days but I doubt it should take longer. We already have it running but there is a definite gap in the skill set here.
If anyone is interested seriously please contact me at tracyd@thegrandunion.com
Thanks.
Hello People,
Wondering if anyone on here is a certified Oracle DBA that can come in to do a day of two of software installation and light training. In Central London.
Have a client in desperate need of someone who can jump right in and train a few developers on how to use the basics of Oracle...
Nope - Worry About The EU
Nope - Worry About The EU
Actually you will find that regardless of which part of the hemisphere Americans hail from they can NOT migrate here at will.
At least Northern Americans have the visa waiver program as the Brits do with us but most South Americans require...
Poor Little Asterix
Poor Little Asterix
:uofftopic
Your issues with my fellow citizens are hardly my concern. Poor little Asterix can't stand the big bad Americans. Your issue not mine.
Whether I'm better than anyone else I work with is irrelevant. If I was in Timbuktu I would negotiate a...
Oh boy, seeing as you don't want to go work 'there' I hardly see your question as relevant. :cool1: No Americans can't just come to work here. Same immigration policies both ways. I'm no more welcome here than you would be. Except the chicks there would probably dig your accent and think you...
Knock knock
Knock knock
I'm not. Trust me.
I'm very grateful to them for keeping me away from the Trisha Goddard show.
But seeing as I'm feeling like a bit of a charity case at the moment I'd like to actually be contributing something beyond my project which was completed 3 weeks ago.
Then...

My tech background has been mostly web programming. Cold Fusion and ASP primarily with SQL Server and Oracle 9i. VB way way back in the day also. In total about 10 years on the web. Done a lot of Project Management also but decided to go back to coding when I...
