A lesson from this is to confirm matters directly with the client. Do not rely on the agency. It's obvious, of course - any third party, especially those with their own agenda, cannot necessarily be relied upon, and so in matters of importance cannot be relied upon.- Toebs

A very good question. Since I have (again, in my inexperience) signed, any changes can come only with their agreement. Googling indicates other contractors having been successful in asking for IR35-related changes to Hays contracts, so I have some hope - on the other hand, my dimming view of...- Toebs

It could have been inadvertant. It might be the information arrived on the Thursday or even late on the Thursday and simply did not reach the agent before Friday. I am not troubled by the loss. It is also true or almost certainty true Hays will not accept a responsibility for it, although I may be doing them a dis-service, since I have not yet spoken to them.
