Okay so I clearly should have had a bit more patience.
Based on past experience I expected it to be very difficult getting through on the phone (especially at this time of year), but almost as soon as submitted that post I got through on the phone.
They sorted everything with no issues, so it...
I've been contracting through an Ltd for years, but for various reasons this tax year I've taken zero salary and zero dividends. I've finally just got another contract, which is inside IR35 and so paid through an umbrella (i.e. PAYE).
HMRC have calculated around £1k in payments on account based...
Hi dreamy, I've been using BI Accountancy for nearly 3 years now (as a software dev contractor) and I've found them to be excellent.
Michael McCullion is my accountant there and he always answers my (many) random tax questions about both my company taxes and personal taxes extremely quickly...
Some mixed opinions here, but mostly stating it's not that great/very competitive.
I'm leaning towards ruling it out now to be honest, it's hard to resist the land of plenty down here in London.

I'd prefer to protect myself from the more nefarious ones though, and from them harvesting my details to spam my...
I thought you were clearly joking here, but from your other comments I'm not so sure :P
Personally I find it easier just to not answer my phone to unknown numbers when I'm not looking, then checking voicemail if they leave - and calling back if it was a non recruiter.
For recruiters I tend to...
Interesting, mixed responses then. The more cynical responses were much of what I expected the recruiters to be up to!
I'll err on the side of not giving them my CV unless I'm actively looking. Perhaps if I'm struggling to get contracts in the future I may change that.
Several times recruiters have been in touch and I've have not be available for months, or have just got a contract.
Frequently though they still want me to send them a copy of my CV "so we can connect easier when I'm free again".
Why?
By then my CV will have changed. Is this some sort of...
