Yes, just a few months. I cannot tell you a) how glad I am that HMRC contacted me, b) that I changed it. They were so persuasive that everything was fine. I was pretty close to believing them and that makes me feel so stupid. it looks that way, yes. :(

So, I’ve been a permie all my life until last year when I was made redundant. I found a contract and signed up for what I now know to be a dodgy umbrella company. No excuses, but I was recommended them by my otherwise excellent agency and honestly didn’t have a clue anything other than legit...
